5+2 Style--This thermostat has two programming options---one for weekdays and one for weekends. Those whose routines tend to remain the same, week-to-week, may find this their best and simplest choice.
5+1+1 Style--For a routine weekday and varying schedules on Saturdays and Sundays, this may work best. Three different programs allow for a standard weekday, a program for Saturday and a different one for Sundays.

7-Day Style--If your family's weeks tend to change frequently, with few set routines, this might be your best option. This style allows the optimum flexibility. Each day can be programmed to a completely different schedule than the next one. Active families with varied schedules would be best served by this style.

The use of programmable thermostats can produce significant energy savings by reducing the heating or cooling in a home while the family is out. But their use should be correctly coupled with the lifestyle of the family.
